Altverse Jess and Robin: Managing the Mishap

A commission from and a continuation of the storyline that began in Altverse Robin and Jessica: Mishaps in Biochemisty I decided to return to this setting and continue playing around with the concept because Box and I have a few interesting ideas to explore with it, I realise this type of thing isn't for everyone, but hey, the two of us are experimenting in a manner of speaking.

Here, Jessica and Robin have more or less adjusted to the changes to their shapes and metabolism that Jess's unleashed experiment unleashed, changes that have receded a little bit from the initial reaction, fortunate since that now means Jessica can stand up. With her old job a little unwelcoming afterwards, Robin reluctantly joined the younger woman in seeking a cure. While not the desired effect, the dramatic result of Jessica's prototype treatment made headlines and attracted a mysterious Angel Investor, who provided them with the use of a modest laboratory to work out the kinks and get a viable product to market.

Wanting to be as close to the possible cure as she could be, (and also potentially needing to serve as test subject) Robin uncomfortably slips into the role of Jessica's lab assistant, a role she is only barely qualified for, if only because in this case it also requires her to deal with the administrative tasks that Jessica is clueless about, and their investor didn't see fit to provide the additional staff to handle. Meanwhile, Jess tries to manage her latent crush on the older woman, part of the reason she spent so much time in the library to begin with, but never anything she felt bold enough to admit openly. Sometimes Robin almost seems to be teasing her, does she even realise what she is doing? Sometimes Jessica feels like Robin's presence only distracts her from her work, other times she feels very, VERY motivated to work hard and get a positive result for Robin's sake.

Either way, with pregnancy hormones running wild, it makes for an interesting working relationship.
